Tell me this, had the Portuguese cops attacked the Celtic fans for invading the pitch in celebration are you saying they would not have reacted ?? The Gers fans were idolised by the locals, at last someone stood up to the thugs... Barcelona invited Rangers over the following season to take part in their centenary celebrations, 100'000 attended the match ! Rangers, Scotlands premier club !!

@lalac68 Celtic took 15,000 tickets for the Lisbon game. The Crowd was 56,000, sell out. Rangers took an estimated 18,000 to Bacelona, crowd around 25,000 in a 120,000 stadium. Travel was less common to European games in those days. To be honest, the behaviour of both sets of fans was like chalk and cheese after those games.

@whosDxc I think you will find this is true, in fact for years the Rangers travelling support to Barcelona was included in the Guiness book of records as being the largest exodus of fans across Europe !
