There's a lot of pressure to remember your lines and be an angel, so I'm sure all actors feel the need to let loose. These clips prove that actors are just like us

It's funny to hear Lou Costello swearing. I'm not surprised, but after listen to the radio shows for so long, it's just funny.
-
@AMannar I hear Lou always made sure Bud got a little more money as a good straight man was a rare commodity.
-
I've often heard that Lou's ad-libs, if they were clean, would sometimes be included in the completed movie, e.g. the dice scene where he says,"starting Tuesday, I'm going out with GIRLS!" Obviously, if Abbott broke up laughing or because of another actor's flub the scene became irretrievable, they couldn't just "Pickup in 5-4-3-2-( )"; then these kinds of scenes ensued.
-
Oh yeah, you knew that in all those classics they said a lot of crazy shit behind the camara

@RUNTHERECOMING - Besides, with his background in burlesque theatres, he'd have heard (and used) some pretty strong language on a daily basis.

Where did you find this stuff amazing!
-
Now that's funny, now's he's REALLY a 'baaaaaaaaaaaad little boy' LOL!
-
I am chuckling at all the people here that are shocked to hear swearing on these. Did you guys really expect the outtakes to be as clean as the final material? Just because they weren't allowed to use such language on film back then doesn't mean that a few swears weren't thrown around in real life. The English language hasn't changed THAT much since then. This is actually pretty tame compared to some of the things you hear on Comedy Central nowadays.

umm actually ...no...lou was the one who handled all the negotiations because abott said on many occasions that he trusted lou to take care of the team and lou always made sure neither was paid more than the other and that each made the most the could while making the same amount... neither ever said anything different...and till this day their children never said otherwise.

believe me they may have had their differences at times but never did one try and screw the other over.....as a matter of fact the only time there was a quarrel over money was when teh two were at odds with the studio.

I'm not offended at all-then again, I got 12 yrs of internet under my belt and eight years working in a prison-I've heard it all. Lou was Lou. If you've never read his daugther's bio then instead of acting all tight assed maybe you should stop before the film gets any further. Maybe you should just leave the net all together because it can be vulgar is out there! Scary! To AMannar, I have this video at home-I love Lou C something wicked so I appreciate your efforts. Cheers, mate! :D
