This is our Catholic and Biblical response to "Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus" by bball1989. We believe that Christ loves us too much to leave us to fend for ourselves in our search for Him. We will always be ready to defend the hope we have in everything that Christ taught -- including the difficult teachings.

Sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence (1 Peter 3:15).

This video was completely made -- from the first idea to make a response to the final upload -- in six days. May we rest on the seventh!

Scriptures cited:

Matthew 5:17: Do not think that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfill them.

Matthew 23:2-3: The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat; so practice and observe whatever they tell you, but not what they do; for they preach, but do not practice.

Matthew 16:18: And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

James 2:26: For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so faith apart from works is dead.

1 Timothy 3:15: ... the Church of the living God, the pillar and bulwark of the truth.

John 20:22: And when he had said this, he breathed on them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained."

  • Colossians 1:18: He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.

Who is the head of the church?

  • Revelation 1:17-18 "When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades".

Who has the keys to Death and Hades ? Who was the one that was dead and is alive forevermore ?

  • John 10:11-12 “I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who is not the owner of the sheep, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them.

Explain the false shepherd who holds a wooden crook in Rome pretending to be the shepherd.

Psalm 23:1: The Lord is my shepherd.

  • Isaiah 42:8 "I am the LORD, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to graven images"

Explain the big idol in video.

  • An last, God intended a Church, and we see that throughout the entire New Testament. I wont go into it because I am going to challenge you as a brother in Christ to read it for yourself. Thank you for your post, all the posts help me to think, and by thinking we begin to know and understand.

    peace

  • Third, all scripture has been handed down from generation to generation, that means all different forms and texts of scripture, Protestant, Catholic, Mormon, etc. have been through many hands. Unfortunately for your claim we have the technology, and the original Greek and Aramaic texts and the modes of translating them, that we know what they say and mean. I am learning how to read Greek right now, and it amazes me how much the original text supports the Catholic Church.

  • First of all, Priests are Human beings...NOT God. They are susceptible to fall just like anyone else. Second, if you do some research you will find that there are more molestation and rape cases in the public school systems. The teachers there are handing down knowledge to the kids. Does that make it invalid? Should we stop learning, or sending our children to school? I would think not.

  • religion now is not what jesus intended religion to become! how can u as a catholic say that it is with all of your "fathers" preying on young boys and girls, how can u follow the scriptures word by word when it has passed through mans hands a thousand times and isnt even close to its original form that god intended it to be? i was raised in the church and was very "religious" yes the core values of the church are great thats it, the rest is all half truths that MAN not God wants you to hear!

  • The original will ALWAYS be the most biblical!! Way to go Jeff, now everyone is copying you, LOL!!

  • you don't need the music, you're fine without it
