  • (Response part 3)

This situation goes beyond the subject of whether they are guilty or innocent or whether they are treated better in GB as oppose to in other countries, Amnesty is opposed to all human rights violations and condemns use of terror. However, the existence of GB stands testimony to the erosion of fundamental social justice in our society if we remain silent and condone such practices.

  • (Response part 2)

Human rights is universal and applicable to every human being under the UN Charter, however, the inmates at Guantanamo Bay are kept in isolation, denied fair legal representation, they have been subjected to psychological and physical duress, and most of them are being detained indefinitely without charge.

    Dear mst3k4evur,

Thank you for your comment. The issue of Guantanamo Bay goes beyond whether they have a 'nice' or 'clean' prison. The situation at Guantanamo Bay demonstrates a willingness of Governments to repress fundamental human rights and contravene international law in the name of so called 'security'.

  • I'll never understand your problems with Gitmo. It is probably the nicest, cleanest, safest prison on Earth. The terrorist bastards get better treatment than then they would in prisons in the USA. They get better food, don't have to worry about being raped and it is far more humane than an Afghan or Iraqi dungeon where the people they victimized would exact their revenge.

  • Thank you for all those who participated in this cause. Myself as a UNSW student, Iam glad to see that fellow students are aware of the injustices being inflicted upon the peoples of the World by this totalitarian, apartheid, Nazi Government of Bush. Injustices which are legitimised contradictorily through a farcical world campaign of "Freedom", or rather, Americas version of it.
