Phone Interview with Shammi Kapoor 20/10/07

This short interview with Shammi Kapoor was conducted on Saturday, October 20, 2007. Our Institute's founder, Wafaa' Al-Nathema, phoned him around 10 pm India time at his mobile phone and recorded the interview.

The video clip focuses more on the audio than the footage. The latter was modestly collaged on purpose, so that viewers focus on the audio interview.

Shammi Kapoor's website is http://www.junglee.org.in which was designed by Shammi himself.

Mr. Kapoor was born on October 21, 1931.

Thanks for posting this interview, Shammi Kapoor is my childhood movie hero for chasing girls. many of the old actors in bollywood are Pathan such as Prithvie Raj Kapoor(Shammi's father) who I consider the father of indian cinema. Manouch Kumar, Delip Kumar, Raj kapoor, Shashi Kapoor are all Pathan and Afghan, they are very proud their heritage. Raj Kumar is also from balochistan(now part of Pakistan), I have been to his village where he was born in Balochistan, he was a Hindo Baloch.

Hey thank you for posting this. I love Shammi Kapoor! He's Hindu Pathan! I'm glad the Afghan/Pathan genes made up the foundations of Bollywood. ;) What a lovely experience to hear his voice in the present. Still sexy and charismatic!
