does it only apply to video mode or does it also apply to taking pictures as well?

on best buys site it said it has hd movie mode. is that true? cause nowhere else seem to mention anything about hd thing. and the sl720, does it auto focus inbetween taking videos? like when you get closer or back away does it focus?

Nice cam, i bought it a few months ago..Yes you can delete all the pics at once from the camera by formatting card or from pc while connected device folder.
