I am guessing at how far away I was from the target. It's not as accurate as my Sigpro sp2009, but it is good for a small $300 pistol and a lot of fun to shoot.

  • That's the first I've heard of someones Mosquito doing that. It had to be a bad slide that was cracked from the factory. I actually hammered a piece of tack strip into a concrete floor one time and the hammer shattered into 3 big pieces and several tiny shards. These things happen. I wouldn't let it give you a bad opinion of the Mosquito. I this was one of hundreds of stories about this gun, I'd worry then.

  • Hello We spoke before. I went to my gun range couple days ago and their Sig Mosquito rental gun that was not that old had broken while someone was shooting it. It broke about an inch from the tip of the slide. Broke clean off - it was not dropped - it happened while it was being shot as a rental. I examined the broken slide and I could see different patterns of black and white. They said it was a MIM (metal injection molding) type of real cheap metal. Wanted to comment on this. Thx. JAMES.

  • @buzzclark

I am also not sure of how this slide is made or what exact material it's made from. I do know that they say it is stainless steel. The steel on the slide is not magnetic at all, as is true with a lot of stainless steels. I would bet that it is a cast molded part though. I think that's fine for a .22 though.

  • Sorry, I did not realize my wife was using you tube. Anyway, Sig has become too comfortable with all their big law enforcement/military contracts and-what happens to joe citizen who also wants good customer service whom I'm afraid has been left out in the cold .Sorry, I'm not going to make this a rant but I did send a real old 226 made in Germany to be rebuilt/refinished and SIG LOST MY GUN!!!!! Tried to "pass the buck"= Let me end here -I apologize. Thanks for your good vids Sincerely JAMES.

  • Hi - I read both comments and agree to some extent. This is the first time I have ever heard of or really seen this happen. The 2 pieces did not look very good for Sig though. It really looked like some flimsy "pot metal" or as was stated MIM. For Sig though I feel it is a sad statement. I think what is in their minds is profit over quality - kind of what took place with American Auto Makers during the 80's. I still would like to have one though. I have EVERY other sig model they made.....
