WOW!!!! What a powerful and affecting scene! It's amazing that something could still be so potent after all these years. Murnau is a masterful director. The way the husband transforms into a dark brute when he rises in the boat while the wife remains a white light of virtue.  The characters are alive! The actors are brilliant and the director is a genius. Thanks so much for posting this!
