A beautiful composition of love's longing emotionally delivered by Johnny in another stirring collaboration between Marilyn & Alan Bergman and Michel Legrand (from Johnny's 1993 CD, "How Do You Keep The Music Playing"). (Please note the incredible sax solo by Gary Foster - outstanding! ) I could wax on about this CD and this song - all of it amounts to the same undeniable conclusion: Johnny Mathis stands alone as the greatest interpreter of love ballads; each piece handled with the care of 'kid gloves', sincerely, from the heart. Please enjoy this very special experience.

Many thanks to Almaknack (channel name), for allowing the use of photo stills from his terrific live videos of Johnny's recent UK performance at the Manchester Arena. You'll find several video versions of this song - all uniquely different, including live performances of Johnny, and a wonderful videography of photos and audio from a good friend's channel.

  • @Biceps318 - you're welcome- I shared it - as an 'addition to' the other- not to replace-. The reason this sounds different i believe - is the active collaboration of these artists- Johnny, Michel LeGrand and Marilyn and Alan Bergman- they were playing together- like instruments in an orchestra- and that's when the sweetness emerges- there is more emotion coming through here- which becomes part of the 'voice'. enjoy:)

  • I haven't heard this version before, though JM's original version is still one of my all time favorites. The addition of the sax solo works so well. Thank you so much for sharing!

  • @flodigarry1 - My- thank you so very much. Yes, how true- and- as we all enjoy his music so much, so often, in our own ways, we 'are' spending our lives with him- he colors our lives and adds depth- hopefully he feel this right back in every concert. You're very welcome. Enjoy:)

  • This so beautiful it completely tears me apart. I'm sure this is exactly what we would all like to say to Johnny. Thank you so much Lenore for posting.
