Nostalgic Local Transport around Vienna, September 13 2008

Nostalgic trams on "Tramway Day 2008" held every year at a different tram depot in Vienna and steamer DT1 (ÖBB 3071) pulling a nostalgic local train special on the line to Ernstbrunn and over Stadlau bridge across the River Danube.

Excellent video, the older trams sound great, was the steam train actually in Vienna, I am referring to the country shots, was it on the outskirts of Vienna?

Nice to see something a bit different. What I like about trams is that you can see a bit of the city as well. I like the conductor stepping off backwards and nearly falling over at 4:44. That steam loco's interesting as well. And a nice Mercedes coach at 06:38.

The Vienna trams shown here take me back to 1963. The noise the trams make...I can alomost smell the city in summer, I used to ride the J and the T wagen: Ringstasse to Landstrasse III.
