@FlakeTillman You wouldn't need to trick an opponent if they didn't already know what you were planning to do. There were idiots in charge of the operation who, accident or not, leaked information on the invasion. The only one who needed to be lucky was Joan Pujol. He was the only one who convinced the German High Command that the information was false, loosening their grip on Normandy. Had he failed, the Nazis would have had an impenetrable defense at Normandy and the Allied Forces would fall.

@TehGamingMofo It wasn't all luck. We (the US UK and commonwealth) fooled the Nazis into thinking we where going to invade by the town of Calais. As a result they focused most of their troops there and we invaded along a less well defended part of the french coast.
