Ken and I recently spent the day at the NC Arboretum helping Arthur repot a Hop Hornbeam slab planting that we created in 1997. It took most of the day to do this work and even then we did not finish. A special thanks to Arthur for letting me create this video to document the day.

  • That is just lovely.

  • That is beautiful!! I have never done slab planting. Is it just a flat surface?

  • can you show a video on making muck

  • The whole planting is amazing. I really liked the moss placement, except in the front on the left - it looked sort of contrived. However, you do run into places like that in nature which seem to be sculpted, as opposed to a chaotic patchwork. Those are some of my favorite places, too.

  • A lot of hard work, but fantastic results. Thanks for sharing it.
