Yes, this is quite genuine. I remember reading about the Readymix sign when I was in primary school in about 1971. Although I haven't seen it personally its existance in Australia is well known.

The diamond shape "Readymix Logo" with a size of 3.2km x 1.6km was carved into the ground by Allan Hoare in 1965. It was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest letters. Readymix is a company that was founded in Sydney in 1939.

Readymix is the name of the construction company that worked on the Eyre Highway some 30 years ago.

Just checked it out on Google Earth... Totally real... about 5 kilometres from the Caiguna Roadhouse on the Eyre Highway in the middle of the Nullarbor Dessert... that's pretty cool...
