A homebrew version of Quake 2 to work on the Sega Dreamcast. Unfortunately there is no sound.

  • Somebody releases a good Quake II for the Dreamcast, kinda like this but with sound and at least LAN support I'd pay fifty bucks for it, hell, I'd pay sixty, the cost of a brand new game, with all of the trash I've been paying that much money for recently, I'd be more than happy to drop down that much for what I KNOW is a good game.

  • Too bad the N64 version has nothing at all to do with the PC version, features horribly blurred textured and the sound it does have is so compressed it sounds like it's coming out of a can.

  • I play Quake 1 on the dreamcast, this looking a bit better and have sound.

  • @Offspringfan64 Buy for the PC, you can get for like 10 dollars or less.

  • I burned a CD for me, a version of Quake1 for dreamcast with about 22 mods included, comes with alien quake, quake raptors, and many other mods have that expancion that a quake with new maps and a new boss, I found the in dcisozone in section homebrew games. but the best version of Quake 1 for DC in graphics is the version made by titaniun studios that used the open gl version that also has it in dcisozone.

  • @Offspringfan64 Theres a new dreamcast game called hypertension coming out soon you might want to check that one out.

  • yeah this dreamcast homebrew port is also pixelated graphics and no sound

  • @nooblet911 but one thing is certain Quake 2, N64 at least has the advantage of not being pixelated as the ps1 version is. has less jaggies than the ps1 version, but for sure the game did not use the potential of the n64, and could have been much better than it was.

  • @nooblet911 I think it was bad work done, because as I said the N64 has games like turok 2 with expansion pack has better graphics than Quake 2 pc, another strange thing and the fact that the Quake1 of n64 is great, with great graphics, and lighting effects better than the PC version of the same time, the version of n64 Quake1 had great gameplay and runs smooth, so I do not understand why Quake 2, n64 not have been so good.

  • I don't understand why quake 2 on the n64 has so bad animation. really choppy, like quake 1. quake 2 was smooth in the pc and ps1 versions.

  • @TheSegaAges quake2 on n64 was bad because of bad work done in producing. Turok 2 for the n64 with expansion pack and the perfect dark has better graphics than Quake 2 pc.

  • @nooblet911 I also think Quake 2 for N64 could have been better than it was, the N64 Turok 2 with the expansion pack definitely has better graphics than Quake 2 PC, perfect dark too, the game was bad in the n64 because of bad work made from the producer.
