Westboro Baptist Church Protest Near the JCC (23 July, 2009)

The Westboro Baptist Church held a small protest across the street from the Jewish Community Center in Manhattan, on 76th street and Amsterdam avenue. This video contains clips from the protest, including a brief interview with Shirley Phelps-Roper, regarding who is culpable for the death of Jesus.

@qpwillie A couple of people have reprimanded me for that. I am certainly not bigotted against those regions (in fact I love those places). I was just under the impression that this particular group was more of a southern or midwestern thing (just as there are certain things in New York which I disagree with, but would consider more of a north-eastern thing). Perhaps I should have been more careful with my language, so, in that regard, I accept and appreciate the rebuke.

@NYCulturalPhysician Well the same can be said about you. You are only concerned about jews killed jesus and not the god hates fags. Why can't we all be concerned about everything they say? Would you care if they said God hates Kenya? Probably not. You are in the USA. People should care about that first. Israel is a forteign country. Of course what they say is horrible but why should that be a priority for Americans?

What you all need to know no matter what you think about Shirly, is that she is right about Israel and the last days....they are upon us....scripture says the antichrist will bring "peace and safety" a peace treaty with Israel....well Obama is working on that peace treaty right now with restored Israel (1948) and the Palestinians.

The infallibility of the pope, purgatory being a place where your sins are burned away since Jesus' sacrifice wasn't good enough, the immaculate conception of Mary saying she was born perfect and never sinned, & on & on.
