A FAST TEST ON MY NEW MA YONES JABBA 5 STRINGS
Delano Pickups: Delano JMVC 5 FE

My review:

the JABBA is an amazing instrument...24 frets and a perfect balanced sound. You can have a very low action without fret noise and without loosing the "punch". If you are searching for a wonderful hand made instrument without spending too much, this is your instrument! The 5th string is perfect...its sound is very balanced and clear, thanks also to these wonderful Delano pickups JMVC 5 FE. Their sound is very similar to a traditional single coil, but with some modern features..
You will have a brighter sound and more punch though they are completely passive. These pickus are twin-coil so they don't have the classic annoying hum. I have used them many times with a lot of satisfaction in studio recordings.
In live gigs they sound always very bright so you will hear all the notes you put on your instrument.

  • question men, woods of the bass?, good job men, very nice sound :)

  • @sojorea19 thanks for your comment.

    Body: alder

    Neck: maple

    Fingerboard: rosewood

  • Fantastic playing dude! Truly excellent display of techniques and styles; double stops, slap, finger funk, jazz - to name just a few. Delano pickups are really great sounding, but the player definitely deserves the credit :) Do you have tabs/backing tracks for this, I'd love to learn it :)

  • @chuckst0nes thanks for your kind comment, the song is called "The Sauce", composed by Greg Mathieson. You can find the original version and some live version here on youtube and may be you can find some tab or transciption if you search for them on the web. Greetings (giorgio)

  • great Bass and Sound!!! The Backingtrack is very good .... where can i get it ?? I want it :)

  • Love this, man! I want one!!

  • @thefunkybassistnl, no I am a self taught player

  • Have you done conservatory?

  • @nickdavidgordon anyway the bass in this video is a passive instrument with no pre-amp on board. The preamp you are talkin' about is on the active version. You can find some video in my youtube page user: giorgiosantisi1

The active Jabba is the sunburnst one ;-)

  • @nickdavidgordon, the on board pre-amp has a Mayones logo on it, but I think that it is a Gregory pre-amp made for Mayones. I think that the Jabba is absolutely a professional instrument with a reasonable price ;-)
