@cantruntosavemyself It may sound that way but it's accurate. I'm happy to retract if you show me an example of a high level American athlete getting second and celebrating. We're not the only ones. When the French (swim) team lost to Jason Lezak in the 2008 Olympics they got second by .08 sec. No happy faces there either. Look at any US collegiate 4x400s and you won't find glee over 2nd. There's more to running than winning for sure. At this level, in the US, it's gold or go home.

Frankly, knowing that that horrible cheat on the anchor leg was on drugs the whole american squad should apologise for robbing the british team of a deserved gold medal. It's amazing just how many disgusting cheats the American sprinters and 400m runners have. In the last 15 years there have been over 35 track american's caught cheating. Many of these ruined better athletes of their magic moments e.g. merlyne ottey, asafa powell, roger black, etc etc etc. Kick out these cheating cunts.
