In a sense, my employer is a cult leader. He pushes the idea of "team", we all wear the company clothes, spout the current mantras delivered from on high via the "Intra-web", and all work for the same reason: to make the leader more money, with the compact that we will get some portion of that money.

Yes, I was a cult member too. You did a great job talking about Cults, BTW. Just in this short story I noticed you mentioned so many things re: real cults. Mystical manipulation, sacred science, the tiered system "step/level" that is the structure of cults, the hierarchy/authoritarian control, deception, recruitment (members homes as "offices"), the intelligence and ordinary goodness of folks who get hooked into them, the education and abuse of having been involved in one. And recovery!
