This demonstrates a glitch I found accidentally while fighting Shredder. Your normal attack is pretty weak. Using Leo as an example, his regular sword strike only does 7 points of damage (the weakest regular attack in the game), which isn't even half a bar of health, as each bar equals 16 health points. The scroll weapon (the strongest attack in the game) does 29 points of damage per hit (almost two full bars of health). Each time you select or deselect your special weapon, the game changes the turtle's attack power accordingly. Thus, the attack powers aren't bound to the weapon, but to the turtle you have selected.

In this video, I demonstrate how this can be abused, by first swinging my sword, and then immediately selecting the scroll weapon, which changes Leo's attack power from 7 to 29. This all happens before the swing hits Shredder, so when the sword does hit, it hits with the power of the scroll weapon. It's also a great way to conserve ammo, as this cheap trick doesn't use up any of your stock.

This trick can also be used with any other special item in the game, but none are as strong as the scroll weapon. In stages 1 and 2, it's best to do this with the ninja stars, which inflict 18 points of damage.

  • I never got past the stage after the water one <.<

  • @Nightmareonhelmst I remember back in the day, I always had the most trouble with the corridor right before the final boss. The dam stage and some of the jumps in the sewers also used to give me issues, but through practice, I learned to consistently pass those parts.

  • I remember this trick, though I mainly used it for throwing weapons only. (Having turtle #1 throw a star or triple star, and switching immediately to the turtle who had the scrolls.) Scroll-powered triple stars tore through the technodrome like it was made of wet toilet paper.

  • Well the level was fine, just the water level >.<

I had like half a person left by then.
