My first test at Matte Painting in After Effects. It was also my first effects test using my new camera the Canon Legria HV40. Enjoy! Please Subscribe! Split Productions - Background plate by David Luong, VFX Artist

  • could you make a tutorial. I'm advanced at after effects but could never figure out how to do this. I would subscribe if you did!

  • @LethargicBannanazZ I'm afraid I don't have the time to create a tutorial but you can find loads of tutorials on set extensions on YouTube. Have a look at video copilot.net set extension tutorial. Thanks for liking my video - Sam

  • 0:08 What's roaring in the background?

  • @Ninjiangstar A car I believe haha

  • u walk like zombie lol

  • @Estebanbustos88 Haha, honestly I'm not sure why I walked like that I was originally going to do a battle backdrop as if I'd been injured :L

  • very good..

  • It was great, but a little less camera shake. If it's too much you can tell it's the wiggle effect. For camera shake I like "wiggle(3,5)" or something close to that number. Keeps it subtle and more natural.

  • You gotta be careful in the future with those "widescreen limits" they're wiggling.

  • The camera movement added in post was too much - nobody holds a camera that badly :P - make it more subtle, also the top of the image moves down and out from the framing due to the wild camera moves. After that is fixed, try added a light wrap to the edges of the cliff on the left to let it blend better with the lights and colours in the scene. Also you seemed to have lost a lot of sharpness in the shot? Check your render settings in AE and make sure your exporting at the best quality :)

  • Thats freaking awesome :) gonna do one soon

  • wow that is AMAZING can u share the stock images with us please?

  • hell yeah hope i can get this GOOD WELL DONE SIR

  • Those light rays look great! Any idea on how they were made?

  • VERY GOOOOOOOD!

  • @TeDubbs I got it!
