Hi Everyone! This is a different type of video but I think it may be useful to someone out there...it works for me everytime when it's a heavy Gnat season.

Remember, the vinegar needs to be apple cider vinegar! "White" vinegar won't work. Red wine can be a substitute.

Thanks for watching!

  • I tried this today and it's not working! I'm using new Apple Cider and dish soap. They're pretty bad right now and all over my kitchen. I put out 3 bowls of this, and they're crawling all over the sides of the bowls but I haven't killed one!

They seem to be attracted to plastic surfaces tho.

Does anyone know if sticky fly paper works?

  • @YourPhilOfCanada Did you use apple cider or Apple Cider Vinegar? It works with the apple cider vinegar. Also, only use a little drop or two of soap - if there's too much dish soap then it does not work as well.

Give it a couple hours and see how it goes. Best of luck.

  • Why isnt it working for me? I haven't caught one!

  • @TheEvilPuppy I'd check to be sure you have fairly new APPLE CIDER vinegar....regular white vinegar wont do it. Also, it has to be dish soap, not hand soap. Other than that I'd see how much soap you are putting in...if too much is in it isnt as effective. Just one to two drips in a smaller bowl should do it.

Try again and good luck!!!! I hope it works out.

  • if someone told me to not kill fruit flies id punch them in the fucking throat

  • Thanks so much! I'm a college kid and after some discouragement from attempting to systematically kill them one by one I stumbled upon this video. Extremely effective, however I used fruit juice vs. vinegar. Also, for any PETA people- All the flies in my abode died a horrible, slow, painful death having the dish soap they ingested melt their internal organs. I enjoyed every single morally justified minute of it :D Oh, and get a job!

Is that how you always deal with people who disagree with you? You must have an exciting social life.

  • cruetly free method thats hillarious

  • Fruit flys are NOT the same as gnats. Come to the southeast. You'll meet real gnats.

  • Hang around your bannans thats what she said

  • Red wine didn't work for me... how red does it have to be? :/

Or did I use too much dishsoap...? Or what... aww...

  • @TheJennycococure FRUIT FLY BARPRO.....NEW PRODUCT....CRAZY!!! WATCH THE VIDEO!!

  • @theantidentite right on brother!

  • Doesn't bleach and vinegar make cholarine gas? Although at this point maybe gasing myself is the best way to go, rather than deal with these little bastards.

  • I've tried red wine. It does work. My fruit flies have greatly diminished in 1 day
