  • Nothing better than hunting over a decoy during the rut . By all means I agree up wind and head on . Good job guys , great video .

  • @ddadanceforce Actually, from our experience, putting the decoy 25-30 yds upwind of your stand facing you is the best method. Reason being, as a buck comes in to investigate the decoy 9 out of 10 times they will approach the head of the buck decoy. This in turn will give you the perfect broadside shot. Using a doe decoy is opposite though. Face the doe decoy away from you as the buck will usually approach the rear once again presenting the broadside shot.
