Battling ropes are great for building conditioning, but the leverage of doing them at full extension of the rope makes the resistance too small to improve any other qualities. In the video, I demonstrate how to instantly increase the resistance to turn the move into an explosive rotational strength exercise. This move could be especially beneficial for wrestlers or grapplers looking to improve their hip throws or suplexes.
