Love abounds in the music of legendary DJ Kaskade, and his 2012 residency at Las Vegas club Marquee, the best nightclub on the Strip. California-based producer, songwriter and DJ, Kaskade creates a sound all his own with honest songwriting, epic production values, and yes- love. He says, "From that love comes the music." Thus the superstar has shaped his electronic music legacy, with an unreplicated indie flavor.
Kaskade reaped many accolades in 2009, including a Best Remixer Award at the IDMA's and nominations for Best American DJ, Best Producer, and Best Full Length DJ Mix. Throughout 2010, he toured extensively worldwide, and headlined the biggest and best music festivals, like California's Coachella. With a monthly residency at Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, 2012 is set to be a banner year.
Kaskade's unique sound is showcased by his theatric production at Marquee. Dancers in harajuku-esque graphic costumes swirl above stage platforms while black and white stripes, polka-dots and checkerboards mix with vibrant fluorescent colors in a hallucinogenic discotheque dream. I saw one of the 2011 Kaskade shows at Marquee back in June. I haven't been the same person since then.
