Three clips of shearwaters taken on a summer 2006 Seabirding pelagic trip aboard the Stormy Petrel (our first boat) from Hatteras, NC. The first clip shows a flock of shearwaters over bait fish pushed to the surface by a school of tuna. This feeding behavior is typically seen on summer trips when many shearwaters are attracted from a distance by the activity, forming large groups that can be seen from miles away. The second clip is of a Greater Shearwater on the water with Cory's Shearwaters in the background for comparison. The third is a Cory's Shearwater on the water, in flight, and landing. At the beginning of the clip, a Cory's Shearwater just finishing a meal can be seen in the background.
