  • they don't make them like this no more

  • I don't give a shit what anyone says. There was NEVER NEVER NEVER a finer voice to ever cut a record ANYWHERE.

Sure, maybe before recording was invented there was someone as good or better, but since the invention of audio recordings, there has never been nor will there ever be a finer vocalist.

Thinking about what happened to this guy breaks my heart. Cooke was a womanizer, Gaye a gay crackhead, but Otis' image is untarnished. RIP Otis!

  • I keep coming back feeling the same way or worse than the first time I visited this page. This was a remarkable man. I am so angry that I can't tell him how much his music inspires me deep in my heart. His music just lifts the heart. It is fresh and pure and no one will eb=ver be able to replace him ever. My heart is broken by his death. Just 2 years old then but 46 now and very sad and depressed by his death. He has this affect on you. I am sorry for the band that perrished with him.

  • I am in tears. Actually crying because I was just a little kid when my parents would play all of his hits. I was too young to know and understand things back then, but now that I am all grown up I feel awful about this. I know it was years ago but it hurts. It really hurts. I am such a sentimental person when it comes to music and the loss of many of the great people that we lost. All we have is the videos of them and the music. I love you Otis. I really do. Gone but not forgotten.

  • I'm not sure if Otis Redding has EVER received the recognition & complete respect that an individual of his stature in the entire history of R&B/SOUL truly deserves. The man was, quite simply, a magnificent talent.........on every conceivable level. Video-clips like this are vivid reminders of an extremely "blessed" individual whose memory we should ALL cherish.......I know I certainly do. May Otis' spirit rest in God's eternal love.

  • Otis, My Man.

  • The real gems in this documentary are the live performances !!! He gave his all in every live performance he ever did.

  • @TTmaniax Well said,, his voice was, in his love ballads mainly, just cut to the core of your soul and made u feel something strong inside.

  • WAYSIDE GEORGIA...R.I.P. SWEET OTIS
