Way to go!! Show the world what you are made of. I'm sorry you had to go through and still are going through that. But, you know what, You are encouraging others through your story. If a young teen can go through something like this and still find it within himself to lift up others then someone twice or three times your age ought to be able to do the same. The world would be a better place if there were alot more people like you. You Rock!!

WOW! You inspire me! A friend of our family just recently lost her leg in a boating accident. Before they decided to amputate, she had wound vacs everywhere. She found out today that she no longer needs them! You remind me of her. She is also strong, determined and wise beyond her years. I hope this message finds you well. God Bless You and your family.

I cant imagine having the vac on my back but all I can say is that it will eventually get better. Keep your head up and just think positive. When its all said and done you will be a much stronger person because of it.

I think your excellent attitude is a major contributor to your recovery.
I assume you had a cast on at the time of your compartment sydndrome, how long was it before they realized what was happening and cut the cast open? I'm just curious b/c I'm a nursing student and just took a test about this.

I actually had a rod put in and from there I got compartment syndrome. Some people believe I had compartment syndrome from the rod others believe I aquired the compartment syndrome from the initial injury and it was just delayed. I do not really remember much because I was heavily drugged but I had a splint on that they had to cut me out of to conduct the surgery. They then put the splint back on and had a wound vac for an additional 3 to 4 months
