  • lololol, not to be a jack ass but with your demonstrated technique, all you'd have to do to counter that is face your right knee outwards. your "circle" motion with the leg would not create enough momentum to break that. You fail to load up the opponent's weight over your hips, there by breaking his balance and properly performing this technique. You should add in your description that this move would only work on a white belt(no stripe) like the kid in your video.

  • @Sewbie Yeah, this vid was made almost 4 years ago, we add a "bump" to get our Opponent's off their base before executing the sweep. I've been with Gracie Barra now since this vid and alot of my game has been fixed. Thanks for the input. I'm actually re-filming alot of these old vids with new, improved ways of doing them. I like to keep these old ones up so I can see my progress and evolution of the moves. lol

  • i love that sweep. but we call it the pendulum or windmill sweep

  • Yes, it is called the Pendulum Sweep in our club as well...we add a little "bump" before sweeping Opponent.

  • would this work with nogi? if instead of grabing his gi could you grab his tricep behind the elbow?

  • That would work too.

  • soooo you're bragging about beating people who have no jujitsu experience when you have a months worth? im sure anyone who is trained is gonna beat someone who isnt, most of the time. but a wrestler with a months jujitsu experience will smoke a non-wrestler with the same amount of experience, if not more

  • you lack any understanding of wrestling. both sports have there merits, and Brazilian jujitsu takes many moves that are commonly associated with wrestling simply because they are so effective. Typically wrestlers have to be stronger and in better shape than most bjj guys. After doing both disciplines i have to say that wrestling is way harder and physically demanding. Wrestling is not for pussies.

  • i practice judo, and i love that weep, robertofegomes, Resende, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

  • I have a competition coming up in a week, and this sweep helps me alot. Thanks for the video!

  • @dogkung He also threw kicks and punches, LOL.

  • this is a flower sweep

  • if you're talking about beating wrestlers at jiu-jitsu then no shit you'll beat them if you have the experience. wrestling is based on a different scoring system mainly involving takedowns and exposing the opponents back to the ground, therefore the fundamentals are different whereas in jiu jitsu you don't get penalized for being on your back.

Why don't you try wrestling them instead? Play their game instead of yours?

  • @argenteum You and me both. injuries suck!

  • This looks like one hell of a fun sweep.

Wish I wasn't injured so I could practice it ASAP.

  • @Aerofire how about sakraba he was a wrestler catch wrestlaer beat all the gracies
