People, Y U NO just enjoy the song?? Official language in Middle Century England was French since William I....After English started changing, it got to a point when it sounded smth like German....German and English are both Germanic languages. There is your answer.

England knew many invasions and French once was the official language in England : P
So it isn't so suprising that some words may be similair to French, but the Grammar is Germanic.
English knows many influences : )
