What a deaf, dumb and blind audience. That's the trouble right there.

In the seventies, I bought a Guild Starfire guitar used at a music store for four hundred bucks..
I got it home, and on the case in handwriting it said Bill Cowsill.
I let it go years later.
Dumb.

I knew Billy personally. He was a blast with a big personality. Purple City isn't the same.

@59simonh I was there too...good comment man. He was a great broken talent. RIP Billy and thanks for the tunes.

@forsythia77 That is nothing compaired to the stuff today every second word is a curse.

I like this guys style I wish there was at least one band or person that had that older style today but all there is, is the old stuff internet, Maybe ill change that when I get back in it ....hopefully, but I don't know if there is enough of us who like the old stuff left for me to succeed.

I loved Bill and Bob Cowsill writing songs together. The world lost that duo writing stuff when Bill left the group. We will never know what those 2 would have done together. They sounded great together also.

@ziggycat999 I agree. Big mistake. But, as you said, Bill was the oldest.

Dad was a tough career mititary man trying to manage a bunch of kids thru show business. Bill was the oldest and lived that way....girls,alcolhol and reefer. Dad reacted the way he knew, with military disciple. Kicked him out of the 'family image' unit. Big mistake I think.

yup...thanks for saying so
thanks Billy
When the other guy says 'Oh so f-ing true', to me that struck a really bad note, it totally jarred with the romantic mood set by Billy's plaintive singing. But then again, Billy is so good that nothing can take away from the magic spell he weaves. Corny I know but how can you put into words this unique talent?

I had the exact opposite reaction when Lindsay Mitchell sang it.
The band had an edge,
the ppl dug them for it,
that's why they were always working.
