I cant believe that nobody figured out that you just have to let alex float to the spikes without touching up and down buttons. Its easy :). The game on the other hand is hard as hell and it is one of the best games ever made. Much better than Mario on the NES. Loved the meet again song :). It would be awsome if this game some day shows up in a remake HD platform for PSN or something like this. We have a ton of Sonic remakes, why not remake the miracle world :).

its possible to bypass the water spikes completely. a couple screens before it, instead of doing the "big fall" (where the panel in the ground opens up and drops you) use the cane to fly over the gap to the ladder and climb up.

Yeah man the double spike at the end gave me the most trouble, Alex Kidd is a very hard game but still one of my favourites, when i finally finished the game, i felt a bit cheated in the your reward was a bunch of text, not even a screenshot or anything?

You unlock the volcano-trap by punching the Stun-block above you. And you can rest below the spears in the water and survive as long as you don't swim down on the lower ones.

I played this game do death back in the day. I don't think I ever had the game crash becouse I pressed the pause button.
