Moray eels feed in a way unlike any other fish, UC Davis researcher Rita Mehta has found. They have a second set of jaws in their throat that can reach forward into the mouth, seize prey and drag it back for swallowing.

  • Personal theory, the "secondary," set of jaws is the eel's actual mouth. It's visible chompers are a faux mouth, used only as a vice. That's just me though.
