This is my recent upgrade from 29 gallons to 75 gallons. My goldfish are very happy with it. I have 2 shubunkins from the rain garden in HI (only ones from the original 29 gallon tank), 1 common goldfish that my daughter saved from a crayfish tank at the pet store, 1 koi, 8 adorable panda corey catfish (they hang out in the coconut), 2 gold weather loaches, 1 brown spotted weather loach and 8 trapdoor snails.

The koi is a beautiful female platinum ogon that I will donate to someone's pond in CT when she becomes too large for the tank. I know I shouldn't have bought her for a tank but the woman at the fish store talked me into getting her even though I kept saying 75 gallons wasn't big enough for a koi. I don't know a lot about koi but I think she has really lovely shaped fins. She's so cute and seems very happy and healthy.

The feeder goldfish has more than doubled in size. It was one of the tiniest things I've ever seen with most of it's tail fin ripped off. He follows the panda coreys around because they are closer to his size than the big fish.

  • Pretty Koi, looks very mature, yet still small enough to enjoy the tank. What's it's status and the feeder since making this video?

  • @clockcycles The koi grew to 11 inches in about 8 months. I have a friend nearby with an 48 x 60 koi pound, so Georgia went to live there. She is huge now. It amazes me how quickly koi grow. She is still glowing white. The feeder is pretty big but still goes by the name of little one. I posted an updated video of the tank not that long ago. He's the goldfish with the long whitish tail.

  • do you use filter media? if so, how often do you change it, and the water? I ask because I have difficulty keeping nitrates & ammonia levels low in my 75 gallon take also with koi. thanks.

  • @zwcheuk I do us filter media. I have a fluval 405. I clean out the filter at least once a month and take turns replacing basket items. I never change more than one item each cleaning.

  • lovely fish :)

  • @denisebailey1985 Thank you!

I bet all of the Pandas swimming around as so adorable. I love them. lol. I've looked alot online about how big the Goldens actually get and can't come up with an exact answer. Mine is only 2-3 inches, but very thick. The Koi is a very beautiful fish (love the white ones) also.

  • Love the coconut
