This is one of the most effective flies I have ever used for top water in the spring fed pond where I have been fishing for a good number of years. The video is excellent.
We use a purple silk and it is very productive as well as yellow and green.

@dav1d1984 english partridge is the same as hungarian
and no spiders are not traditionally tied with french partridge
french partridge is usualy used for mayflys

Fish these all the time. Partridge and yellow kills it here on the Truckee, and partridge and blood red kills it during a midge hatch on any of the high alpine lakes in this region. Tie one on!
