I met and conversed w/Nelson and Dylan in 2005. They are two of the most humble musicians I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I've met many famous musicians, entertainers & politicians from '05-'07 while shuttling them to and from local events(or after dropping of their managers, marketing people, band members, and roadies). These two left a positive lifelong impression (as most others did not).

@trogdortheninja @adamq95 nobody in living memory can be attributed as the author of this song; it's a traditional Appalachian / Baptist gospel ballad. Probably over 200 years old, in some form. There are old-time records of it dating from the early-1900s, and people in those communities were most surely playing it long before field recorders showed up.
