Chicken logic: God took our tree.....we shouldn't look for a new tree as it's god's will for us to not have a perch...
Time Passes....
Chicken logic: Look at the good grace of our lord as he has blessed us with other trees, showing that we should appreciate them all equally...
The evolution of chicken logic resembling theist logic over time.

I have some hensthat are older and not feelign very well, yet wehn they eat or nap they seem so content, so I cannot put them to sleep even though it might be best for the flock. And I'm still having to spend this time with one rooster-otherwise he will die--I'll explain if you want.

"How would you like someone to do that to YOUR bedroom?"
The cats already foul my bedroom (I sleep out side), the darn things. I have been trying to get the chickens to sleep in the chicken coop, but they prefer the freedom of the trees.
In the beginning of this video i saw, after a long time, a chicken flying. Only once have i seen a chicken in real life do a similar thing and that was many years ago whilst i was living in Pakistan. Apparently they can fly and if you check under wikis "chicken" article youll find a paragraph there(search for "flight") which states that they can fly BUT the paragraph LACKS ANY REFERENCE. If anyone knows a scientific article stating this plz add it there. Thanku very much.

The WikiPedia entry may lack a reference because the writer did not think it was necessary. People who keep chickens know they can fly: it is like saying rain is wet. The chickens here at the ranch fly when they go to roost at night, and they fly when they leave their roosts in the morning; they fly when being chased by coyotes and dogs. Perhaps I will get a photograph of a chicken flying and add it to the WikiPedia entry.

Wow I wasn't going to say anything, but I too never realised that they could fly, or at least not sustained flight. Can they actually maintain altitude for an extended period of time? Or is it more a temporary solution to heights and danger?
I am new to your vids, and enjoying those set at your farm. Will check them all out eventually, you seem a great bloke =)

The chickens here can fly short distances: they go from tree to tree, or from ground to roof, or roof to ground, or fly over the fish pond. They prefer running on the ground instead of flying. The wild turkeys also fly short distances.

This is painful to watch!!! I want to cry. Where do they roost in the winter? I'm having problems with a rooster I should have killed--I fell in love-he's 'shy'. He takes hours of my life every day now-keeping him company and showing him life, keeping him healthy. Ok I'm weird.

Yesterday morning a maimed hen was sent to Chicken Heaven (with a hatchet) because she was not getting any better, and she was in pain, and the other hens were pecking her bloody. It distresses me to see death as the best option.
