Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Sigourney Weaver stars in this emotional true story about a 1970s religious suburban housewife and mother who struggles to accept her young son Bobby being gay. What happens to Bobby is tragic and causes Mary to question her faith; ultimately this mom changes her views in ways that she never could have imagined. • This reject of women occupying an equal position with man was started by the Roman Catholic Church who modified the original biblical texts and later was accepted by all other Christian Churches.

That is the reason why Mary Magdalene was made to be represented as a harlot...which history proved irrefutably, that she was not.

Learn history...to learn how religions were used as a political tool to control the mass and to gain absolute power & richess.

  • NOTHGIF and hijodetodatu,

Obviously neither of you have lives. Go get one =) They are lovely let me tell you. Or better yet, go drink acid ;-) I'll be glad to burn the bible on your graves=)

    Anyhow,

I watched this movie last night it was great. Two thumbs up. The acting was great and the story was very sad. I cryed about 3 times.

I cannot believe that folks here want to turn this forum into a referendum

on homosexuality! Queer folks are here people, and the US Constitution

that is further guaranteeing our liberties does the same for your lunacy!

We are winning over the hearts and minds of most Americans, and just

as important, we are winning in the courts! Keep your absurd debates in

    your "Fundy" megachurches!

  • DIS WAS A GREAT MOVIE!

  • Where is Sigourney's Emmy Award? Amazing actress and movie.

  • What a beautiful movie! Unfortunately this film was made only for TV. I think it deserved international/theatrical fame.

Sigourney Weaver was wonderful here. Her acting was brilliant.

  • a fine frenzy - hope for the hopeless

    which I LOVE!!!!

  • what song is this?

  • what song is used in the trailer?

  • A obvious troll is obvious...

  • Besides homosexuality and acceptance suicide is another really big issue that is portrayed beautifully in this movie. I wasn't gay but I can relate with Bobby about feeling like the only way is down. Trust me, it pays to stick around. The voice that is saying otherwise is wrong and there will come a day that it will get better.
