eMac Clock Battery

lol, new batteries! radioshack overcharged for that battery. these macs take half AA 3.6 Volt Lithiums.

I have an old Ricoh 35 mm film camera and I believe it uses that same type of battery, I suspect other cameras use those kinds of batteries. I wonder what kind of battery my 2010 iMac uses, I suspect it's a 3 volt coin cell like on most PC motherboards.

@Lachlant1984 it probably uses a CR2032 battery. whether it has a holder or is wrapped in heat-shrink tubing i couldn't tell ya though.

You can get these batteries online for about $6 each. I also have a local, independent electronic components store (one of the few remaining!) which sells them for $10.

My iBook G4 uses the laptop battery for the clock too, so it resets itself to August 27, 1956 (not Steve Jobs' birthday, despite popular legend) if I leave the battery disconnected too long. But within a few minutes after bootup it connects to the Internet time server and automatically resets itself to the correct time & date.

@vwestlife at the time i was looking for it locally and thought that the half AA was one of those oddball photo batteries, so i went to radioshack thinking that they would have the oddball battery. i'll definately look elsewhere whenever that battery dies. that might take 10 years though, lol.

If I may point out 1 thing: I got (probably) the exact same battery online for like $10 with shipping included. I think here, RadioShack is really to blame for the high-price.
