@Sunderlanding Too fast. Even Joe Pass looked stressed -- you didn't see that very often! Amazing skill, but not great music. Clark Terry is remarkably clear at that speed though, that's impressive.

I have to say that they play this too fast. The melody doesn't swing at this speed. It just seems like a "play it as fast as you can" moment and not a musical decision.

@Emapsych As is Clark Terry, Oscar Peterson and Niels Henning Oersted Pedersen, Ronnie Scott, Milt Jackson and Bobby Durham. :) Having listened to Joe Pass, Oscar and Niels - just the three of them, I can tell you I always got chills, listening to that trio. The additional players for this date just made it that much more sublime. Jazz doesn't get much better than that!
