Toilets that don't flush, teeth-rattling roads, less than 2** (if you're lucky) accommodations, road dangers...all insignificant annoyances compared to what you're going to see in Ethiopia.

And be grateful that you are going to return to your home country with, hopefully, the daily conveniences that we take for granted. Like clean, running water?

What was "Chat"/"Kat" that the men were selling along the road? The leaves are a narcotic and both men and women "chaw" daily. We first ran across "Kat" in Yemen where 85% of the men chaw down every afternoon.

  • how very right you are! Thought is was amazing how Henock managed to come to a dead stop at high speedwithout ever injuring one animal. The plains of Ethiopia must have been something to see when man didn't intrude. Thanks for commenting.

  • dont you mean the road is crossing the cattles path?the cattle where there 2000 years before the road!!!!!

  • Sorry, I didn't mean it to come across like that. We LOVED Ethiopia and everything about it. Just are trying to explain to other travelers what to expect and see. It wasn't a culture shock for us but for others, it might be. Not only was the country a wonderful experience, but other than people poking me, loved them all. Hope more people make an effort to go there and thanks for your comment.

  • You're very narrow minded you expect things every where to be the same as the lifestyle you're used to in your little western world. If you travel for adventure you got to see things for what they are and not what you perceive them to be. The same video you shot could actually be narrated by another open minded person, and it will have a different meaning. A tip for next time you travel, think out side of the box and respect people for what they are. You'll gain a hole new different perceptive.

  • sorry you feel that way. Wasn't complaining...just wanted to show what you may expect.

  • Ur video is a distorted image of ETHIOPIA.U went to the remote part and U r comparing eveything with Western world. I don't know why U went there? U should have shot things that are interesting to other people rather than complaining. If u want a toilet to flush don't leave Ur house!I did n't know that even they have a toilet use the jungle as a washroom.& and isn't Chat lighter than herion and cocain from the western world. One thing u have proved is that women like u are not adventures. Peace.
