FFIX E2PG - Part 71: Defeating Catoblepas

Remember what I said earlier, all weapon shop monsters must be defeated? Yeah. Fortunately you get 15000 Gil this time, which is pretty helpful. Equip Distract and Jelly, and most of Catoblepas's attacks won't hurt you. Use your Sapphire as quickly as possible to get 77 HP, then unleash the pwnage.

Your HP isn't restored upon returning to Alexandria, which means you're ready to use Lucky Seven against Tantarian too. Which is good because that's pretty much the only chance in hell you have of winning.

@1whoistornapart if i remember correctly, there is an alternate way to beat him. there's a weapon whose ability is doom and so when you use one of zidane's skills to activate the weapon's ability, it would kill the monster instantly.

it took me 3 tries to beat him luckily i landed a critical 2650 and one hit and buh bye ugly

After several tries of failure I was lucky enough to trance and Grand Lethal his ass for 8.6k

hMM im having such bad luck. Every time I get Lucky Seven in it does 7 or 77 I cant seem to get it to do 7777. Plus he uses Thundara When I use the Sapphire more than half the time.
