This is a time lapse style video of the process of me painting a Boxcar Racer skateboard. Please let me know what you think of it. Also if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

In this board I was looking to include two things, the album design and the striping from Tom DeLonge's guitar while in Boxcar Racer.

Supplies...
-Office Max Inkjet Labels (full sheet)
-3M 3/4 in. painter's tape
-3M sandpaper (approx. 120 and 500)
-Rust-Oleum spray paint
-Rust-Oleum clear coat (gloss)

The songs in this video are "Elevator" and "And I" by Boxcar Racer. This audio is property of Boxcar Racer and Universal Music Group.

  • the full sheet inkjet labels are adhesive? if not, where they the stencil for the boy's silhouette and you used some tape to stick it to the board?

  • @PVoScourge they are basically packaging labels, one side for writing on and the other has a wax paper that you peel off and it sticks. I use them because I found that taping down a design doesn't work as well. Make sure the paint is completely dry before applying them, otherwise it may peel up the paint or become really hard to peel up.

  • About how long did it take to make this?

  • @ParksTechReviews anywhere from 4-24 hours to do the painting (better in low humidity conditions and allowing drying time between layers) and a few more for the clear coat. overall it could be done in 2-3 days of non non-stop painting.

  • hm u sell sell me any old deck that u cud spray n make look nice?

  • @ITZkAm11 I'd recommend just giving it a try for yourself. Check out the facebook group "Official Skateboard Painting." There are several other people with posts of ideas they've come up with and a great place to ask questions from anyone in the group.

  • @HankLaDesh the stickers that I placed on it were cut out to have the drip included. if you need more explanation on this technique, let me know.

  • @HankLaDesh Target/similar retail stores=cheap, lower quality board. Amazon ranges but can have better boards for practically the same price or a little more

  • One last question how'd u get the "B" in B C R to have the drip/spray paint look?

  • @sumblinkfan so go to target or amazon thanks. This helped alot
