Too much pressure building up in the brake master cylinder causing the brakes to bind on - hence glowing red discs and smoke!

  • I had Brembo cross drilled rotors front and rear when i had my e30.. the worked amazing. huge improvement over OEM parts

..but im sure if you did a big long brake torque burnout they would glow red.. any kind of rotor would

  • vented brakes actually end up slightly hotter (metal to air heat exchange is not very good) the benefit to them is they allow the pads to bite harder. If youre having brake heat issues get bigger brakes, bigger discs can handle more heat. if you can afford it dimpled discs are the way to go, all the positives of crossdrilling and they run cooler. and they dont eat pads like slotted rotors do

  • u can also get custom rims that have fins that blow air onto the brakes. i think benzes have rims like that

  • my brake situation was similar to that. they did not heat up but they got so hot they warped so now i need to get the brake disks changed. i was recommended to apply vented brakes disks (disks with the holes in them). they stay much cooler when the pads are able to breath while applying pressure to the disk thus keeping them at a cooler temp.

if your brakes warp then i recommend putting on vented brakes
