Our friend Ibro Diabate is only 22 years old and since he was six years old he was always learning and playing with different masters. A friend of the (Famoudou) Konate family. This time he was teaching us an example of a solo which you can play in different 4/8 rhythms. It is e sequence of phrases and not too difficult to understand. You can mix yourself with the phrases. For those who are seaching for nice solo's i share it with you for educational purposes. With permission of Ibro of course!! enjoy!! Gambia november 2009 location: Kotu Quarre

  • Beautiful sound, great technique. So refreshing to see / hear a djembe being played that is not cranked up so high. I also appreciate the spacious solo patterns. Very inspirational.

  • @SuperSnoopy36

Well.... the djembe is craked up but the skin is cowskin!! that is why the sound is more soft and in my opinion more nice than goatskin. Thanks for your comment!

  • love this more every time I listen to it,,,,

  • What's nice to hear is much of this style is from Famoudou himself. The tonal sounds and the solo lines and the space. Ibro, thank you for posting something we can cherish.

  • maaaan!!!! one of the best beats on youtube keep up the good work!!

  • onne loveee rastafariii liveeee more loveeee :))blesssings

  • nice video!:)

  • Thanks for this. Great flavour , feel and tone. So refreshing to see this drums played the way they should be. Unlike a lot of the white guys on YT who seem to be playing too loudly , trying too hard and not really feeling the rhythm.

  • un gand merci , mais pas si facile

    ani bara

  • maybe you might play Dibon sometime, maybe :D hehe
