After focusing on the environment for two years, we chose to return to the individual, the human being and his evolution, that is to say : The Memory of Man in Movement. We put the emphasis on 3 main concepts forming the structure to this fashion show : cultural memory (individual or collective), scientific memory (neuro anatomy or neuro psychology) and mechanical memory (kinetic movement and robotics movement).

The first step for students is always searching for inspiration. Research is the key to a good collection. When a strong concept is developed, students can then begin their rough sketches. It is a difficult stage in the process as they need to be creative but also coherent so as to build a logically structured collection. Instructors guide students along the concepts they have chosen. The fashion book of each student contains all the necessary steps from inspiration, moodboard, through colors and fabrics research, prints development, and ultimately the final designs with their technical drawings, technical files and marketing leaflet. During this creation process, the school chooses the most suited designs for production. Each student is required to make several garments following all the steps from conception through pattern making, draping and finally sewing. We insist on the fact that instructors guide students. At each stage, the work is done by the student's own hands.

Two weeks before the show students presented their research, fashion book and completed garments to a jury. Tonight it is our pleasure, and great honor to present a selection of garments from our graduating classes final collection, and to award six prizes accordingly.

Prizes

The IFA Paris Postgraduate Fashion Design & Management is constructed to enable its students to take the next step in their fashion careers by building not only design skills but understanding of the cultural, industrial and market forces that shape the fashion world. During the nine-month program in Paris, students will work with gifted instructors with strong experience in the field. They will engage in intensive individual and group projects that straddle the globe and prepare them to take prominent places in the fashion industry.

The MBA Fashion Business allows students to build career skills and gain a full understanding of opportunities and challenges of running a fashion business today. During the nine-month program in Paris, students will have the opportunity to work on industry sponsored projects in cooperation with international brands, and visit leading brands stores as well as deign studios.
