The Josef/Rosina Lhevinne recording is more polished, even though the sound can't compare.

Klavierfassungen von Orchesterwerken sind oft so faszinierend, man hört die Struktur quasi in Reinform. Es muß aber perfekt gespielt sein, wie hier. Siehe auch "Sacre" für 2 Klaviere

I have heard the original orchestra version several time,
but first time to hear version for 2 pianos.
this version is wonderful, too. :)
Do you know anything about this arrangement? Who is the other pianist? Frere?

I guess it was Kissin, but I'm not quite sure. I'll try to find out.

I looked around a little and it looks like Ravel arranged one or more of the Nocturnes for 2 pianos. Emil Gilels apparently made an arrangement for one piano, but this HAS to be more than one player (with no insult meant to Martha as a potential soloist intended!). Thanks for posting. So colorful!

In Verbier 2001 Martha played it with Kissin according to the list of her recordings, so that is an arrangement for two pianos, no doubt. By the way, I knew just now that Debussy wrote Nocturnes for orchestra! Great arrangement then! But who made it? Look at this: "Nuages has been transcribed for double piano by Maurice Ravel. Fêtes has been arranged for solo piano by the English pianist Leonard Borwick, and the arrangement has been recorded by Emil Gilels, among others." That's from wikipedia.
