Taxes are good, plain and simple. We are pretty much past the pocket stuffing days of midievil kings in which case I would fight against it too. The simple fact is that when taxes are collected, they are inevitably going to be spent on something good (except wars of course). Taxes supports the health of a nations.

Get rid of welfare for all I care. All I'm saying is that it directs money in the right direction.

Businesses are collapsing because of a reduction in purchasing, not over taxation. Sending money to consumers through jobs, rebates, and tax credits (google it!) increases consumer spending.

Lowering taxes will only reduce the governments ability to navigate its way out of the economic crisis. Left wing politics works in moderation.

The welfare system isn't perfect but its designed to help the people who will ultimately save the economy. - For the entire history of welfare, the recipients have not saved anything, much less the economy. Why should we believe it will now? Why is even Obama talking about tax credits? Small businesses are the foundation of our economy - not welfare recipients.small business needs tax cuts so they can hire would be welfare recipients...

The welfare system isn't perfect but its designed to help the people who will ultimately save the economy.

The average wage in the US is ~$40,000. If the average person loses their job and reduces their spending, the whole economy suffers. Funding (of all kinds) needs to be aimed at lower and middle class citizens because it will protect further job loss.

Tax breaks wont stop the domino effect because the first domino is at the bottom!!!
