@seosamh1921 3. The Sash
I am not sure that a tune can, in itself, be sectarian or racist. Words, of course, can be. I have checked the words of The Sash (3 verses and a chorus) and don't see what you are getting at. A number of recent court cases in Scotland have failed to establish the words as sectarian. I agree that it may be sung in a manner which may be offensive to some. But which words do you think are 'virulenty sectarian'? Also, which words are 'racist', and which race?

I can't believe some of the idiot comments being made here. Stop living in the past. Join the real world. The Micks are the best!!!

I am sure the Vinegar Hill rebels would be proud of these people playing 'the rising of the moon'. Morons, soupers and plastic paddys

The tunes I heard were "Let Erin Remember" "The Sash" and "The Wearing of the Green" whats the problem? Its an Irish medley of tunes covering all traditions. Folk always pick up gurn and go out of their way to be insulted. Get a life The Sash is not sectarian, look up the lyrics.
A fine Regiment with a proud history, Quis separabit.

Both regiments have their distinct histories and of course the Irish Guards are part of the Guards Division while the Royal Irish are infantry of the line. So expect public duties if you join the Guards, i.e. guarding Buckingham Palace etc.
It's just a matter of which regiment you want to see yourself become a part of.
Also, they're not swinging their arms to full height because they're wearing their capes and carrying their SA80s in their right hand under there as well.

Ironically the tunes are "Kelly the Boy from Killarne" and "The Minstrel Boy", both of which are Irish patriotic songs about British murder, rape and repression so how are these guys "Irish Guards">

looking at some of the comments here...it reminded me.......it is a practice in the irish guards that politics and ones faith are never discussed..they have the right idea......nice piping , great tunes!
Awesome video, band playing ''orange'' & ''green'' tunes and the men and women march together as one band of ''brothers'' . The army has achieved what countless politicians haven't been able. I have nothing but respect and admiration for the people in this video, as a British Citizen who considers himself Irish it makes me very proud. Forward together is the only way.
