rescue, rehabilitate, re-socialize, and re-home.

Art and his litter mate were found in a cardboard box. Born without front legs, Art, or Tanker as he was known back then, was fostered and bottlefed by Judy Walker for Pet Rescue by Judy. It is obvious that Art is very happy with his new home! To see Art's baby photos, visit his webpage at our website, http://petrescuebyjudy.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=1136662

  • what type of dog is this, his face is adorable!!! like a type of retrievers...but looks like welsch corgi too...

  • Aaah, that's the big question ~ what breed? When we first rescued this litter we thought they were lab/boxers, but they were only 3 days old so who knew. By the time they were 10 weeks old and ready for adoption, we thought they were Chihuahua/Pomeranian mixes. Now, well, maybe you're right: Corgi/Chihuahua? Really, it is a mystery. On our Success Stories webpage you can see Simon, Art's brother. Same face. One thing I do know ~ they aren't Lab/Boxers!!!

  • The Animal Rescue Site is giving away $100,000 in grants to shelters between now and July, with $20,000 to the overall winner. $20,000 could pay a month and a half of vet bills or four months of rent/utilities for PRBJ. Winners are selected based on the number of votes that they receive. Everyone can vote once daily between now and July 26th. Go to Pet Rescue By Judy homepage for the link.

  • Thanks to everyone who voted for us. Pet Rescue By Judy won the week 10 prize for most votes, and finished 11th in the national contest. All in all, we won $2,000! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

  • Art came to us with his seven littermates, found in a box on the side of the road, just two days old. Art, or Tanker as we called him, had no front legs. What were his chances? Well, he proved to be a little fighter! With the care of his foster and now his forever family, he is a happy, capable little guy! Yet another happy ending!!!

  • He is adorable! But, his wheelchair should be given large wheels in the back and "swirling" castors in the front. Then it would be much easier for him to handle turning etc., since it would work just like my (human type) manual wheelchair! Great that dogs like him get a chance instead of being put down. Since dogs are so good at handling disability without the problems us humans often have, it makes no sense to not give them a chance!

  • This is one of those quiet but wonderful stories that takes place in many rescues around the country. I know money is tight for everyone, but if you can donate to your local rescue, please do. Just $5 will feed a cat for a week. Those donations add up! Join the team!
