Manila jazz legend, Bong Peñera, composer of "A Samba Song", "Samba for Luisa", "Batucada Sa Calesa" and many more, interprets, Jobim's classic "Águas de Março" or 'Waters of March.' Track is from an unreleased album of Bong entitled "Diversions", recorded 1980 at Greenhills Recording Studio. Recording engineer: Chito Morales. For the entire project Bong sings and accompanies himself on acoustic guitar and overdubs on piano. CD exclusively available through rspenera@yahoo.com. @fleung187 i read once that in order to really appreciate this song you need to learn Portuguese. the english lyrics may be similar in some parts but comes off bland and disconnected. the portuguese lyrics really compliments the music and vice-versa. it's just like listening to the english version of freddie aguilar's "Anak " being aware that the original Tagalog version is way better and more haunting. aguas de marco is a song written with politicalism (if such word exists) if i'm not mistaken.

never really understood the song till now. don't know Portugise but the sadness in Mr. Bong's singing tells it all. Had to follow song with english lyrics wife gave me. heard many versioms of this song before. For the 1st time, after listening to this, I love this song!
